Ever wonder what a silhouette would look like if an opposing company got their hands on a competitors’ sketchbook? Well, your curiosity has finally paid off! Welcome to Sunday Swaps, a new feature to the KicksUSA blog where we take two existing silhouettes from competing companies to create a brand new silhouette. What would the sneaker world look like if Tinker Hatfield worked for adidas? If Stan Smith was a Nike athlete? Or if Kayne went to Puma? These are the types of answers we are going to solve!
Boost Force 1
The first silhouette out the gate is the Boost Force 1. In the Bizzaro world, Bruce Kilgore was a sneaker designer for the German-based adidas. Sketching away new ideas for a different silhouette, Bruce looked back home for inspiration. He wanted his new design to personify greatness and was inspired by watching the United States president make a speech and then fly off in the famous Air Force 1. Imagination sparked, and Bruce had an idea of what his newest silhouette would be called.
adidas also had a breakthrough with new sole technology. The new Boost sole was about to change the comfort in sneakers forever. This breakthrough was the perfect opportunity for Bruce to pitch his new design. With the Boost sole, Bruce was able to present his new Boost Force 1 as both a performance and lifestyle casual sneaker. With the 3-Stripes front and center, sitting on that brand new Boost technology, Bruce Kilgore change the sneaker world forever.
